Children’s Horse and Pony Weekend Options

Enjoy all the fun of a day at the yard, riding and friendship without the hassle, risk and expense of owning a pony! CFEC Club options are available either  Saturday or Sunday and throughout school holidays from 1 to 6 hour options. Mostly our riders are regular weekly riders and we have bulk buy packages available for those who wish to commit to learning at best value.

Beginner young riders (age 5-10) may start with 30 minute starter lessons or join Mini Club. Mini’s earn their stickers and ‘I can Trot’ rosettes whilst older riders need to join suitable ages and abilities. We can hire hats and boots (free to members) until they are ready for their own and we have a small on-site shop for when you are ready for your own hats and boots!

All riding is taken by Cheston’s BHS qualified and experienced staff under the close supervision of Sophie (proprietor/manager, BHSII qualified and first aid trained). Activities are themed around key learning topics towards Club rosettes, badges and tests.  Join the Cheston Club Scheme for discounts, best value and special events such as Camp if you are serious about enjoying regular riding and pony care. We follow the BHS Pony Stars system of workbooks and stickers.

What is Pony Club?

Cheston currently operates our own Centre Club after many years of being affiliated to Pony Club UK and being the biggest in the area.  At present, we are going it alone so all club member fees are invested straight back into our Club with discounts and VIP treatment, not lost to PC Head Office. Our Club activities are often open to all, but regular riders should consider Club Membership for priority bookings, discounts, special events, club rosettes, badges and tests etc.

Club participants and members can learn about horses as well as wider countryside matters and we often include a trip out to broaden learning. Topics include all horsey topics, learning about nature and wildlife, farms and respecting the outdoors!  We encourage and develop ‘soft’  and social skills in all participants

We have an ethic of ensuring all our regulars are achieving goals however small or large and developing life skills and confidence whilst having fun and enjoying their time with us!  Cheston’s Proprietor, Sophie Osborne, has a background in education and personal development and holds a Post Graduate Certificate in Education.

How to join our Club

If you would like to join Cheston’s Club, simply email us to find out more. You do not have to be a member to attend but it is easier to get booked in and essential if your child is a regular and wishes to enjoy the discounts, priority bookings, camps, special outings and rewards.

New to Cheston?

Older more experienced riders must be assessed in a riding school lesson first prior to joining our Club activities.
