Varied livery services

BHS Approved Livery

Cheston Farm is a perfect location for you and your horse, whether on full livery (care with or without exercise) or as a short stay option for schooling, sales livery or if you want to bring your horse on holiday with you to Dartmoor National Park and enjoy the amazing riding we have.

Also, if you are going on holiday yourself and need somewhere where you know that your horse will be looked after and not have to worry then we are the place for you.

2020 – We are offering only a very small Full Livery at present as we prepare for some building works. Schooling and Holiday options will not be affected by this so please do contact us for these options. If you contact us, do be ready to tell us a little about you and your horse (type, age, breed etc) as we do find some horses are not as well suited to our facilities and management. We are most suited to daytime riders who enjoy hacking and gentle schooling or dressage. We tend not to take on competitive riders with sport horses that wish to do a lot of jumping or riders that need the facilities at our busiest peak riding school times. Comprehensive information is available for enquirers that best suit what CFEC can offer you.

At Cheston Farm you can…
  • Exit the A38 and arrive at your yard within 4 minutes;
  • Swing into the saddle and choose whether to ride indoor or outdoors in our fabulous arenas or trot up the lane and
    be on Dartmoor within 10 minutes; and
  • Be within an easy drive of Plymouth, surrounding towns of Totnes, Ashburton, and enjoy moorland and beaches!

With access to Dartmoor just 5 minutes up a quiet lane, the hacking is exceptional. The turnout is carefully managed and improved, loose boxes are large and use of the arenas is included in the price. We are probably one of the best located livery yards in the area.

Your horse will benefit daily from the expert eye of Sophie and her closely supervised team of BHS qualified grooms. With Sophie living on site, stabled horses benefit from late feeding and checks.

Exercise options include use of our rubber matted horse walker, lunging, schooling and hacking. We also offer tack cleaning, grooming and clipping as well as access to on-site trainers, clinics and competitions.

On site you can take advantage of instruction with resident trainer, Sophie Osborne or other full-time staff regular competitions, clinics and visiting BHSI trainers.  Latest prices are available from the office and as we are full, we are currently operating a wait list for serious enquirers.
